Review:
Loch Lyme is situated on a pond in Lyme, New Hampshire. The accomodations consist of rustic cabins that have running water and electric, but no air conditioning, telephones or tv. They do offer internet access in the main lodge. Heating is provided by a fireplace in the cabin. They source local produce for the restaurant, and you can choose to dine in the lodge or cater for yourself. Plenty to do if you didn't want to use your car all week, more of an old fashioned family vacation where you
swim, fish, kayak, hike or play tennis. No video arcades either. They dry the sheets and towels outside when they can and have the usual recycling programs. No solar power as far as I know but I know they are looking to build new units as part of a cohousing project using green practices. You'd probably have to use your car to get there, though its not too far from White River Junction, I know public transport serves there.
