Reviews

I stayed there from Jan. 23-Feb. 3, 2008. The hotel is located in residential yet lively Passy area, just a few min. away from the Eiffel Tower and not far from the Champs Elysees Avenue.

I booked a superior room but was pleased to see they upgraded me in a junior suite for the same price. The room was beautiful! I had a balcony with a view over the Eiffel Tower!

They have many green programs (sheets, towels, water consumption, recycling bins, renewable energy, carbon offset) and propose an organic and fair trade breakfast. I was told they are the first independent hotel in Paris and suburbs to receive the European Ecolabel, which is a label given to hotels which have a strict green policy (energy, waste, staff training and clients awareness programs...).

I have been very pleased with the service as well, the team is young, friendly and very dynamic. They even have a game going on as they are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the hotel, i was surprised to see that one can win a free stay in an eco resort in the Philippines, where i am born, or a free week end in Paris.

I am coming often to Paris for work and will surely come back!

February 2008

I had to come to Paris for a business meeting. My family and me are very eco-conscious people so whenever we have to buy something we look for the green way to do it. Before going to Paris I looked for an eco-friendly one and found the Gavarni.

The 16th arrondissement is very nice and chic, the hotel itself is what I expected: luxury and eco-friendlyness. Traditional decoration in the lobby and in the rooms.

I liked the nice and polite staff. I liked the convenient location. I liked above everything else, that I was damaging as little as possible the planet by staying at the Gavarni's and it does feel good.

Review this hotel

This website is for you and your fellow green travelers. You can make it more useful by sharing your travel experiences at the different environmentally friendly hotels or eco-lodges you stay in. The more comments and reviews we have on the hotels in the database, the more you and other environmentally conscious travelers have to go on for making decisions.

When you review a hotel, the information we are looking for is what your experience was; how you felt about what you saw and did in regards to the hotel. Did you notice any environmentally sensitive steps taken that aren't covered by either the attributes list or the hotel's website? For example, were the shower curtains fabric rather than plastic, the wastebasket unlined, or did the room smell fresh without having been perfumed? Does the housekeeping staff honor the towel/sheet program? Are Styrofoam products offered at any food establishments connected to the environmentally friendly hotel? We want the good and the bad so other green travelers can make informed decisions.

There are lots of little things that go into making a great experience, and lots of little things that go into making a great green experience. That's what we are looking for in the reviews we receive. All comments and submissions become the property of HealthyStays.com, LLC and may be published.
