Review:
Staying at the DoubleTree Lloyde Center was one of the best green hotel exaperiences I've had. They really live up to their claim of green. The bed was heavenly comfortable and the water flow was just right.

The bathroom amenities were by Dani, a Bend, Oregon, company. They were wonderful, and are organic. The dispenser was the best looking one I've ever seen -- sleek and modern, and would look great in any bathroom. I wish they hadn't also offered bar soap by a different company and continued with the bulk soap at the sinks, and then offered bar soap by Dani to those who prefer bars.

The lobby was lined with plants that looked healthy. It gave an even more inviting look to the entrance.

The biggest misses of green this hotel has are they provide a newspaper to every room, every day. My room had a morning paper when I arrived in the afternoon, for example. The coffee they serve in the restaurants is great tasting and fair trade, organic; the coffee in the guestrooms isn't fair trade or organic, though it didn't taste too bad when I brewed it strong.

I loved this hotel experience. kr-February 2007
